Our Story
Rooted in New Orleans. Raising Scholars.
SEAMS NOLA was built on a simple belief: every student & athlete in this city deserves the individual attention & curricula that matches their interests and untaps their genius! Glyn Freeman Jr (Owner/Founder) graduated from Mississippi State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering with a Minor in Mathematics. He is a husband and father of six children. During the Covid-19 pandemic, he used his background as a former NCAA athlete to develop young athletes in basketball but soon noticed a gap in the educational system and sports performance. Many student athletes struggled to grasp STEM concepts in the classroom which limited their opportunity for advancement. Customized tutoring plans which focused on introducing the students' personal interests with Math & Science were created to bridge the gap and grades began to improve drastically! This was the beginning of SEAMS (Science and Applied Mathematics in Sports). Since 2021, SEAMS has expanded to offer test prep services and homeschool courses. We continue to serve the Greater New Orleans area with pride and diligence!
Why We Exist
Our Mission
SEAMS NOLA exists to close the academic opportunity gap for K-12 students across New Orleans & surrounding areas. We provide personalized tutoring, rigorous exam prep, and the kind of mentorship that goes beyond the textbook.
We believe that with the right support, every student — regardless of background or zip code — can achieve their full academic potential and earn a seat at the table of their choosing.
What Guides Us
Our Core Values
Student-Centered
Every session, every plan, every decision starts with the student. We meet learners where they are and build from there.
Community-Rooted
We are New Orleans through and through. Our work is shaped by the culture, resilience, and spirit of this city.
Results-Driven
We set clear goals, track real progress, and celebrate genuine growth — because our students deserve more than effort; they deserve outcomes.
Mentor-Minded
Our tutors are more than instructors. They are guides, advocates, and believers in every student's potential.
